Some times the fishing is so challenging and the results can only be the best.

Finally landing the brown trout which was very quickly released. 

The brown trout come up into all of the rivers and streams during the Summer to ready themselves for spawning in the months of May and June. All of the fish in the Taupo area are wild trout which ofcause sets a challeng for all anglers. 

There are 48 rivers and streams running out into Lake Taupo so all of the fish, both browns and rainbows which move up into these. The small streams will not necessarily have only small fish. Trout always go back into the spawning areas inwhich they were hatched.
